Booking Conditions

Please carefully read the Booking Conditions as they form the basis for the AFL Event Office (AFLEO) accepting all reservations.

  • Important Information

    • All prices are per person, in Australian dollars and include the Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST) calculated at the current rate of 10% (subject to change).
    • Please check the spelling of names to ensure they match the individual’s passport, driver's licence or photo identification.
    • In relation to all bookings where more than one passenger is travelling, the person making the booking on behalf of his/her travelling companions will be deemed to have accepted the booking conditions on behalf of all of his/her travelling companions.
    • All product is limited and subject to availability. Placing an available package in your shopping cart does not reserve that item. Packages are only added to your order after you click ‘Check Out’ on the shopping cart page. You will then have a total of five minutes to complete the check out process.
  • Hotel Information (if applicable)

    • Double and twin rates are based on up to two (2) persons sharing existing bedding unless indicated otherwise. Triple and quad rates are based on three (triple) or four (quad) persons sharing existing bedding unless indicated otherwise. Additional charges apply to a single room, extra persons and extra beds.
    • Rates listed are room only. Meals are not included unless indicated otherwise.
    • A minimum two-night stay applies to all accommodation packages unless indicated otherwise. The two-night stay must incorporate Friday 27 September and Saturday 28 September, 2019.
    • A maximum of five rooms are available for purchase online. Please contact the AFL Event Office team for assistance if you would like to book more than five rooms.
    • Accommodation descriptions, facilities and distances have been provided by the individual hotels and are subject to change without notice. Hotel room photographs are representative only and actual rooms may vary from those shown.
    • The rating of accommodation is based on various factors, which are generally accepted as indicative of a certain class, however, the AFL Event Office does not guarantee the standard, class, or fitness for purpose of that accommodation or service.
      • Budget: Basic accommodation with limited range of facilities.
      • Standard: Comfortable accommodation, good range of facilities and furnishings.
      • Superior: Well appointed accommodation, high standard of facilities, room amenities, guest services.
      • First Class: High standard of accommodation, extensive facilities, room amenities, guest services.
      • Deluxe: Luxury accommodation, exceptional standard of facilities, room amenities, guest services.
    • As a guide, check-in time at most hotels is 2:00pm, rooms may not be ready prior to this time for immediate occupancy upon arrival. It is possible to ensure immediate availability by paying the extra day's tariff, booking rooms for the night before arrival. Check-out time at hotels is usually 10:00am however this does vary amongst the various properties. Rooms still occupied after the designated check-out time may incur charges, to be confirmed upon request.
  • Tickets

    • 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final Tickets are sold subject to published AFL Conditions of Entry to the Venue.
    • The Victorian Government has, pursuant to the Major Sporting Events Act 2009 (Vic) (Act), declared the 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final an “event” and has given its approval to the 2019 AFL Grand Final Ticket Scheme (Scheme). AFL Event Office is authorised by the AFL to sell and/or distribute Grand Final Tickets (AFL Authorised On-Seller OSAFL19/20), and must comply with all terms of the Scheme. We suggest you take time to become familiar with the Scheme, contact the AFL Event Office team to request a copy.
    • AFL Grand Final ticket/s may not, without prior written authorisation of the AFL, be re-sold at a premium or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including competitions or trade promotions). If a ticket is sold in breach of these conditions, the ticket will be void and will not entitle the holder to admission to the event.
    • Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged under any circumstances after purchase. We strongly recommend that a photocopy or record of the details of the AFL Grand Final ticket is made in case the tickets are misplaced or lost.
    • Final Siren Function Only Packages do not include entry to the 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final.
  • Postage and Handling & Document Delivery/Collection

    Postage and handling of your 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final ticket/s and documentation is included. Documentation will be collected in Melbourne from the AFLEO Ticket Collection Centre.

    Location details, dates and times for the Ticket Collection Centre will be communicated with final documentation sent via email mid-September. Documentation may only be collected by the person who made the booking or a person whose name appears within the booking. Photo identification will be required.

  • Terms of Payment & Cancellation

    Payment in full is required at the time of booking, see Methods of Payment below. All payments are non-refundable. If payments are not received by the due date, reservations will be automatically cancelled without notice, cancellation charges apply.

  • Methods of Payment

    All payments must be made in Australian dollars, payment in any other currency will not be accepted.

  • Standard AFL Event Office Methods of Payment

    You can pay for your package using credit card. Payment in full is due at the time of booking.

    • Credit Card Payment: The AFL Event Office accepts credit card payments, subject to the following fees: Visa, MasterCard 1.35% of the amount payable, American Express 2.35% of the amount payable. This fee will be added to the amount due as detailed on your booking acknowledgement.

      The credit card used to pay for the booking must belong to the person in whose name the booking is held, the cardholder must also be attending the event. For security purposes, and in the situation where this is not possible, AFL Event Office will require a clear copy of either the cardholder’s drivers licence or passport as proof of identity. The cardholder will also be required to return a signed Payment Form authorising AFL Event Office to charge the nominated credit card.
  • Travel Insurance

    Travel Insurance is recommended to cover you against loss of deposit or final monies paid, because of unavoidable cancellation due to illness or other causes, personal baggage loss, medical expenses etc. Please contact the AFL Event Office team for policy details, and refer to the PDS for conditions and exclusions.

  • Consumer Protection

    General Travel Group Pty Ltd, trades under licence from the AFL as AFL Event Office (AFLEO). All AFLEO clients are protected under Australian Consumer Law; for further details visit the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission website.

  • Agreement

    These Booking Terms and Conditions (effective March 2019) supersede any previous version published by the AFL Event Office. In making this booking and/or amendments thereto, you agree to be bound by the Booking Terms and Conditions. Any prior arrangements, agreements, representations or undertakings are superseded.

  • Law of Contract

    These Booking Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria and any action arising under them or in any way connected with the travel arrangements may be bought only in a court in Victoria, subject to any law which is expressly inconsistent with this.

  • Conditions of Responsibility

    AFL Event Office, a division of General Travel Group Pty Ltd ABN 85 003 133 551 and/or their subsidiaries and/or associated companies, give notice that all final travel documentation, tickets and coupons issued by them, or on their behalf are supplied as agents, and all arrangements for hotel accommodation, entry tickets, transport and conveyance are supplied upon the express conditions that they are not liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, sickness howsoever caused or occurring to persons or to property.

    AFL Event Office and/or their subsidiaries and/or associated companies gives notice that should any damage be caused by the passenger to the property, contents or grounds of the hotel accommodation, or to the property of a third party supplier in carrying out the arrangements of the tours, the costs of repairing any damage caused by the passenger will be the responsibility of the passenger and must be paid to AFLEO forthwith by the passenger.

    AFL Event Office and/or the subsidiaries and/or associated companies accept no responsibility for loss or additional expenses for any failure to perform or delay if that failure or delay is due to anything beyond their reasonable control. Should there be any disruptions or delays to any service to be provided it will be the responsibility of the passenger to contact AFL Event Office or the Agent/Operator.

    AFL Event Office and/or their subsidiaries and/or associated companies give notice that if passengers are attending an event that the event tickets will be subject to Conditions of Entry to the Venue.     AFL Event Office and/or the subsidiaries and/or associated companies excludes all implied conditions and warranties except any implied condition or warranty the exclusion of which would contravene any statutory provision or cause any part of this clause to be void.

    AFL Event Office and/or the subsidiaries and/or associated companies liability is limited, where it is liable, to refunding the price of the service or product.
